Old artex, tired plaster, or walls covered in filler after the paper came off. A skim coat gives you a flat surface to start again from.
Ceilings
Including the new ceilings that come with a warm roof conversion — every one of ours is boarded and fully plastered, with the downlights set in before we finish.
Full rooms and whole houses
After an extension, a rip-out, or a bathroom or kitchen job where the walls need making good before anything else can happen.
Ready to decorate
Left clean, flat and with the mess taken away. You should be able to get a roller on it once it's dried out.
